1 two web artists (net.legends)
will face-off in a ring to alter a web page – the cyber-ring -- live. The resulting changes will be seen by the
public on a screen and by web surfers on the net.
2 the artists will face-off for three
hours using their skills of design and hacking to assemble and disassemble the
work done by their opponent.
3 each player will have a 15-minute turn
to prepare and program their attack on the web page.
4 during each turn, the respective player will also play the sound or music of their choosing which will be heard live through the sound system of the venue, or on the net in real-time through streaming audio. This music can be then remixed by their opponent.

the cyber wrestling match will
physically be held in a boxing ring set in the exhibition space with room for
the audience to walk around it (like in a boxing match).
6 three plasma screens or projectors
will be set around the ring that will simultaneously display:
a the state of the cyber-ring.
b the desktop of the player whose turn it is to hack the web page with a count down clock showing the time left.
c the desktop of their
opponent.
7 an announcer will
comment live on the stages of the battle. this
announcer heard and/or seen by the internet public through streaming audio
and/or video.
8 on the cyber-ring page, one will be able to:
a see the present condition
of the page being hacked
b listen to the music or
sounds produced by both artists
c listen and/or see the
announcer and the fighters
d vote for the artists.
9 the winner will be
decided by a committee of previously chosen jurors and/or by public voting, or
some combination of both.
10 on each side of the ring there will be a
computer controlled by each competing artist that can used to present more of
their work.
11 the cyber-ring page will be comprised of a frameset with two frames:
a one with the hacked page and the live audio
b the other with the name and information of the net.legend at work, and a link to launch the popup control window with the streaming audio and/or video of the announcer, and the voting form.
Presentation of work:
Previous to the fight, the net.legends will present their own work and parade their own masculinity and internet prowess so to taunt and intimidate their opponent. The presentation will take place at the same ring where the match will be held, and the artists will be able to use all the available computers, screens and projectors.
